TR’s Ian Carlton Takes on 380 Mile Cycling Challenge for Eastbourne Hospice
Ian Carlton, director of quality for Trifast Plc, is taking on the challenge of a lifetime next month when he will cycle 380 miles in just two days, from South Shields to Eastbourne.
Ian will be making the journey with his friend David, in memory of Sid, David’s father. Sid sadly passed away in June 2016 after a short battle with cancer, and spent the remaining few weeks of his life at St. Wilfrid's Hospice in Eastbourne being cared for by a fantastic team of people.
This year, on the first anniversary of Sid’s death, Ian and David will honour his memory by taking on the epic cycling challenge to raise money for the hospice and boost awareness of the great work it does for patients, their families and friends.
David and Ian will leave South Shields, Tyne & Wear – the town where Sid was born - on Saturday June 10th and cycle all the way back to St. Wilfrid's in Eastbourne, with an overnight stop in Sleaford, Lincolnshire. The duo will travel 180 miles on the Saturday and the remaining 200 on the Sunday, meaning each day they will be in the saddle for at least 12 hours.
