Elvis was in the building at charity night attended by TR staff in County Durham

Staff from TR’s Newton Aycliffe base enjoyed a performance by the one and only Elvis (maybe) last month, when they attended a charity evening at Birtley Buffs Club in Chester-le-Street, County Durham. The event was co-organised by Avril McNeil, from TR’s Automotive Strategic Support team.
TR also donated a Kindle Fire as a raffle prize for the event, which was held in aid of Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support. Through a combination of raffle ticket sales, auctions, a hot food stand, and donations for seeing Elvis (aka Eddy Popescu), a grand total of £3,457 was raised and split evenly between the two charities.
Avril said: “It was a fun evening for two great causes and there were even a couple of raffle winners from TR Aycliffe! I’d like to thank everyone at TR who helped, and to remind anyone who’d still like to give support that donations can be made to the charities directly online.”
Macmillan, which strives to ensure no one faces cancer alone, relies on supporters for 97% of its income. Donations to Cancer Research have helped save millions of lives by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.
