TR Fastenings Supports Young Engineers at Uckfield Community Technical College

TR Fastenings, a leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial components, is delighted to announce that it is to sponsor the development of a new electric-powered race car to be designed and built by students at Uckfield Community Technical College.

Based in Uckfield, TR Fastenings employs over 1,000 people globally and customers range from blue-chip multi-nationals to local residents and companies who make use of TR’s popular trade counter.
Geoff Budd, Trifast Director and  European Managing Director at TR Fastenings, explains: “We are delighted to be able to support the students at Uckfield Community Technology College in this initiative and wish them well with both the build and the Greenpower races they take part in. It is a natural progression of our involvement with the annual Uckfield Grand Prix when TR Fastenings’ car park is transformed into a race track for Greenpower Goblin kit cars built by children from local primary schools and reflects our commitment to supporting the young engineers of the future.”
Rory O’Connor, technology teacher at UCTC, comments: “We are hugely grateful to TR Fastenings for its generous support. The £1,000 sponsorship money will finance the development of a brand new electric-powered race car which will be developed alongside our current one and will enable us to be much more competitive in next year’s Greenpower races.”
