TR Team Smashes Fundraising Target For Hastings Half-Marathon
Runners raise more than £2,100 for local heart and lung hospital
A team of eight TR Fastenings (TR) employees, friends and family took on the challenge of the Hastings Half Marathon on Sunday 19th March, overcoming steep hills and strong headwinds in their determination to raise money for the Papworth Hospital Charity. The TR runners took between 1 hour 55 minutes and 3 hours to complete the punishing 13.1 mile course, and raised £2,155, more than double their original target of £1000.
The team was assembled by TR Fastenings’ European Distribution Account Manager, Nathan Parmar, whose mother’s life was saved by a double-lung and heart transplant at Papworth Hospital five years ago. Nathan was joined in the run by Purchasing Specialist Dan Reardon, Sales Team Leader Ross Delmon, UK Distribution Account Manager Nick Hardstone, Product Sales Manager Steve Wallis, and a number of friends and family members including Nathan’s dad Mick Parmar, who helped to set up the team. Dan and Ross were the first members of the group to cross the finishing line on Hastings seafront, with their times of 1:55:33 and 1:55:37 placing them in the top third of the 2,700 strong field.
Nathan said: “It was a challenging day for all of us but crossing the line was so rewarding and knowing that we’ve raised so much money for such a fantastic cause makes it all so worthwhile. I can’t thank Papworth enough for what they did for my mum and my family but this donation is a great way for us to give something back.”
TR Team Taking on Hastings Half-Marathon for Charity on Sunday 19th March

TR Fastenings’ European Distribution Account Manager, Nathan Parmar, has assembled a TR team to run the Hastings Half-Marathon on Sunday 19th March in aid of a charity he has strong personal ties to.
By inviting individuals to sponsor them for completing the 13.1-mile run through the hilly seaside town, Nathan and his colleagues will be raising money for Papworth Hospital, one of the world’s leading specialist heart and lung hospitals.
“It was five years ago this month,” says Nathan, “that the extremely talented medical team at Papworth gave my Mum a second chance in life when she had a double-lung and heart transplant. We had previously been told by doctors at another hospital that there was nothing they could do for her. We are taking on this challenge to give something back to those special people and to raise awareness of the massive potential impact organ donation could have on all of our lives.”
Nathan will be joined at the race by Purchasing Specialist Dan Reardon, UK Distribution Account Manager Nick Hardstone, Sales Team Leader Ross Delmon, Product Sales Manager Steve Wallis, and members of their families.
