TR Fastenings Participates in North East Automotive Alliance Expo
The automotive team from TR in Newton Aycliffe participated in ‘Meet the Buyer’ activities, talking with a number of potential new clients, and actively promoted TR’s automotive fasteners and C-class components, in both metal and plastic, on the company’s exhibition stand. Promotional material on the stand also highlighted TR’s global presence and multiple manufacturing sites.
The NEAA Expo was inaugurated last year as an annual platform to show off the strength and depth of the North East’s automotive industry and to help firms win new business. This year the event featured keynote speeches from senior experts in automotive manufacturing, supply chains, and purchasing; a wide range of industry-specific workshops; and three exhibition areas where more than 65 companies promoted their products and services.
More than 350 delegates attended the sell-out event, just down the road from Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK’s plant, including representatives from big industry players such as Nissan, Jaguar Land Rover, Komatsu UK and Cummins UK.
Malcolm Hildyard, Automotive Sales Manager, TR Fastenings North East Division, said: “As a new member of the North East Automotive Alliance, and the only member in our area of expertise, we saw the Expo as an important opportunity to promote our business. We were able to schedule meetings with representatives of several big companies, which was a welcome chance to raise awareness of our capabilities, as well as taking the opportunity to visit other stands to establish potential opportunities. The NEAA has built a strong network and it’s good to be part of it.”
NEAA CEO Paul Butler commented: “The size and scope of our second expo reflects the fact that the NEAA is now the largest automotive cluster in the UK and one of, if not the, fastest growing clusters in Europe. The expo is all about raising the profile of the North East automotive sector and we’re delighted more organisations and VIPs visited this year from outside the region.”
