Download as PDFIn response to the escalating flood threat along the Danube River, a dedicated group of volunteers from TR Hungary took action in September to support vital flood defence efforts. The team recognised the urgent need for assistance and volunteered their time to help safeguard nearby communities from the rising floodwaters.
As part of TR’s newly launched Corporate Volunteering Day programme, employees are encouraged to take paid time off to engage in local charitable initiatives. The programme was put into action when team members, observing the rising water levels in their area, learned from the local municipality’s website that additional volunteers were urgently needed to bolster flood defences. With floodwaters already threatening residential properties, the volunteers understood the need for intervention to prevent further damage.
The volunteers who contributed to the flood defence efforts included:
- Zoltan Csengeri
- Zoltan Piros
- Viktória Veszprémi
- Kitti Kinics
- Tibor Ács
- Gergő Almási
- Zsolt Bartha
- Péter Gaál
- Péter Haris
The TR Hungary team collaborated closely with local municipality officials, providing essential support where it was most needed to reinforce flood barriers and protect vulnerable areas from the rising waters.
