We provide efficient solutions to support global procurement and distribution, throughout the Trifast Group of Companies. The management of freight has never been more critical to provide cost effective and ‘Trusted Reliability’ to our internal and external customers.
Having a deep understanding of global import and export requirements is an essential component in providing an agile supply chain to our multinational customer base, regardless of whether it is ocean, air or land. This is particularly important for our seven global manufacturing facilities to ensure our product is distributed effectively to end users and our own distribution locations.
It is essential that we have an integrated and efficient supply chain management for the global flow of products. Therefore, the choice of partners is paramount as we have established long term partnerships with carriers with regional market expertise. Our partners comply with the relevant accreditations that fulfil the requirements of our customer base, and the sectors they serve. This gives the appropriate level of confidence that we have met the required criteria. This includes CTPAT for North America and AEO which aids speedy customs clearance with the full knowledge that we are using audited vendors.
As part of our sustainability strategy we engage with our partners and together utilise freight consolidation to continue to improve our carbon footprint.
Freight vendor consolidation
In key areas with manufacturing locations either our own, or approved vendors, we have developed smart logistics programmes to consolidate all shipments into major partners logistic hubs. This allows us to maximise the usage of full containers providing commercial benefits and speedy unloading at destination. This enables the full container to reach our distribution locations in the shortest possible time.
Our objective is to ship Full Container Loads (FCL’s) as Less Than Container Loads (LCL’s) can cause dock and paperwork delays, increased costs and necessitates more handling of the product.
Real time data tracking
In today’s demanding logistics environment, we recognise technology is key in providing an agile supply chain. End-to-end track and tracing of shipments is operationally complex and can be improved significantly through working with vendors who offer real time data and analytical reporting. Portal platforms are used daily by our teams. This provides updates on movement of freight, time critical shipments and notifications of due dates.
The heightened need for data to aid decision making, coordinating logistical needs to support the supply chain in a timely and cost-effective manner has never been more important.
