Building on its long-standing relationship with Grant Engineering, TR has implemented a new line-side inventory management solution that will improve stock visibility, streamline the management of Class C components and support greater manufacturing efficiency across the company’s production facility.

The project represents the next stage in a partnership spanning more than a decade, with both organisations working together to optimise inventory management and reduce manual processes through a smarter, datadriven approach. Following discussions around improving operational efficiency, TR worked closely
with Grant Engineering to assess its existing inventory management processes and identify opportunities for improvement. After conducting a detailed line walk and reviewing production requirements, TR’s supply chain
specialists recommended a tailored line-side solution designed to place critical fasteners and Class C components exactly where they are needed on the production line.

The initial implementation will focus on highvolume fasteners, including bolts, screws and washers, which are essential to day-to-day manufacturing operations. By positioning stock at the point of use and providing complete visibility of inventory levels, the new system will help ensure components are available when required while reducing unnecessary inventory and supporting lean manufacturing principles.

Unlike traditional manual bin management systems, TR’s solution captures real-time consumption data, enabling replenishment based on actual demand rather than forecast assumptions. This provides greater transparency for both organisations, helping optimise stock levels, reduce working
capital and improve overall supply chain performance.

For manufacturers such as Grant Engineering, where production schedules can vary significantly in response to customer demand, maintaining the right inventory levels can be challenging. The flexibility of the new line-side solution enables stock to adapt to changing production requirements while reducing the risk of shortages that could disrupt operations.

As part of the service, TR will provide ongoing on-site inventory management and regular replenishment visits, taking full responsibility for ensuring Class C components are always available when needed. By proactively monitoring stock levels and maintaining inventory in line with production demand, TR removes the burden
of managing these low-value but businesscritical parts, giving Grant Engineering complete confidence in its supply while allowing its team to focus entirely on manufacturing.
