TR is proud to support Government High School, Nazarethpettai, Chennai, through the sponsorship of a new sheltered dining area, helping to create a more comfortable environment for students to enjoy their daily lunch.
The initiative forms part of TR's ongoing commitment to supporting the communities in which it operates, making a positive and lasting difference through meaningful local engagement.
Government High School, Nazarethpettai, currently educates 246 students. Following discussions with the school to understand its most immediate needs, the construction of a dedicated shelter was identified as a priority, providing a covered space where students can enjoy their lunch, protected from the elements.
The initiative was marked by a visit from Serena Lang, Chair of TR, accompanied by Raksha Hegde, HR Director – Asia & Ken Chan, Operations Director – Asia
They were joined by school representatives Mrs Malathy (Assistant Headmistress) and Mrs Rani (Teacher), alongside members of the Women's League Foundation.
The project reflects the importance of listening to local communities and identifying practical ways in which businesses can contribute to their wellbeing. By investing in a facility that will benefit students every school day, TR hopes to make a tangible difference to the school's environment and the children's daily experience.

Serena Lang, Chair of TR, commented:
"Supporting the communities around our operations is an important part of who we are at TR. Education plays such a vital role in creating opportunities for future generations, and we are delighted to contribute towards something that will make a practical difference to these children every day. It is particularly rewarding to work alongside local partners and the school to support a project that responds directly to their needs."
This initiative reinforces TR's commitment to responsible business practices and community engagement across its global operations, recognising that making a positive impact extends beyond business activities to supporting the people and communities around us.
