TR proudly participates in World Clean Up Day 2025

Download as PDFRecognised on the United Nations calendar, World Cleanup Day took place on 20 September 2025, uniting millions of volunteers, communities, and organisations across the globe to take collective action for a cleaner, healthier planet.
This year, TR teams across the UK, Malaysia, and Germany proudly joined the movement, dedicating time and effort to clean up local areas and contribute meaningfully to environmental preservation.
TR Malaysia leads the way at Pantai Remis
As part of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, TR Malaysia organized a beach cleanup at Pantai Remis, Selangor - a popular local destination for a community of nearly 30,000 residents.
Colleagues from various departments came together, equipped with gloves and clean-up gear, and were divided into two teams: one focused on the sandy shoreline, the other on the rocky terrain. Following a safety briefing, the volunteers set out with purpose and enthusiasm.
By 11:00 am, the team had successfully cleaned 150 meters of shoreline, exceeding expectations. Many beachgoers stopped to thank the team, showing appreciation for the visible difference made.
Impact highlights from TR Malaysia:
- Total waste removed: 70 kg
- Plastic waste: 63 kg (90%)
- Other waste: 7 kg (10%)
- Estimated carbon reduction: 245 kg CO₂e avoided
This impactful initiative not only helped restore a valued public space but also raised awareness about the importance of keeping our coastlines clean.
Positive feedback from local residents and joggers reinforced the value of community-driven initiatives and the impact of TR’s ongoing CSR efforts.
TR Germany cleans up in Verl
Over in Verl, the TR Germany team rolled up their sleeves to collect litter in their local community. Colleagues came together in high spirits, picking up a significant amount of rubbish and leaving the area noticeably cleaner.
"The team’s efforts drew spontaneous appreciation from local residents and joggers, who stopped to express their thanks" says Heike Henning. "This positive feedback reinforced the value of community-driven initiatives and the impact of TR’s ongoing CSR efforts."
TR UK cleanup efforts across different locations
Lancaster Fastener in Morecambe Bay
In the UK, a group of 19 enthusiastic volunteers from TR’s sister company Lancaster Fastener Co Ltd, took part in a beach clean-up at Morecambe Bay.
Wearing branded t-shirts and high-vis jackets, the team split into two groups - one tackling Hest Bank, the other Heysham. The morning was spent clearing litter and supporting local conservation, with team members enjoying both the fresh air and the shared sense of purpose.
The initiative didn’t go unnoticed: later that day, a local councillor praised the team on Facebook for their efforts in keeping the headlands clear. A wonderful recognition of a job well done!
Prescision Technology Supplies (PTS) East Grinstead concentrate on their surroundings
At PTS, the team believe in taking an active role in protecting the environment, both within their operations and in the local community. The team dedicated their time to a local clean-up effort, working together to remove litter from the area surrounding our site, picking up discarded bottles, cans, and other rubbish that pollutes green spaces contributing to a cleaner and safter environment for all. Their efforts highlights the importance of collective action, no matter how small the effort.
Looking Ahead
Across all three global regions, TR employees demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainability and community. We’re proud to be part of the global World Cleanup Day movement, and we look forward to continuing our sustainability journey - one clean-up at a time.
